Leading by Example: How My Daughters Became My North Star
As I sit here, reminiscing on the journey of motherhood, one decision emerges as the guiding light of my existence – the decision to make my daughters the centre of my purpose. It's a choice that has not only defined my role as a mother but has also profoundly shaped the way I approach life itself.
Becoming a mother was a transformative experience, one that filled my heart with a deep enduring love. In the depths of that love, I discovered a newfound sense of purpose – the desire to nurture, protect, and inspire my daughters to reach for the stars.
In the quiet moments of reflection, I realised that mere words weren't enough to convey the depth of my aspirations for them. I needed to show them, through my actions, what they were capable of achieving. I wanted to be more than just a voice of encouragement; I wanted to be a living, breathing example of strength, resilience, and determination.
So, I made a promise to myself – I would lead by example. I would demonstrate to my daughters that they could be anything they set their minds to, that their potential was limitless, and that the only barriers they would ever face were those they allowed to exist in their minds.
Every day since then has been a testament to that promise. I strive to embody the values I wish to instill in them – kindness, compassion, integrity, and courage. I embrace challenges head-on, not just for my own sake but to show them that setbacks are merely stepping stones on the path to success.
It's not always easy, of course. Motherhood comes with its own set of trials and tribulations, and there are moments when self-doubt creeps in. But in those moments, I look to my daughters for inspiration. Their unwavering belief in me fuels my own determination to be the best possible role model for them.
As they grow and flourish before my eyes, I am filled with an overwhelming sense of pride. I see the seeds of confidence, resilience, and ambition taking root within them, and I know that I am fulfilling my purpose as their mother.
In the end, my decision to make my daughters my purpose has enriched my life in ways I never could have imagined. They are not just my children; they are my greatest teachers, my constant source of motivation, and my most cherished companions on this journey called life. And for that, I am eternally grateful.
